A study published in the journal Appetite found that chewing gum for at least 45 minutes before meals was able to increase satiety and reduce the snack intake of healthy people up to 10 percent. This is inline with another study published in 2009 that showed that chewing gum for one-hour in the morning was able to help the study participants to eat 67 fewer calories at lunch. Since consuming 100 fewer calories a day should lead to a weight lose of up to 10 pounds, chewing sugarfree gum can be part of a weight lose plan. Of course, we still believe that you need to continue to health healthful foods and exercise daily, if you want to lose a few pounds. Chewing gum alone is unlucky to cause you to lose weight.
